Thank you all who came and supported us at our VIII Annual Wine Tasting for Charity! Many thanks to all the volunteers, sponsors, workers and the Embassy of Argentina in DC, who made of this event a huge success! More than ten wineries from Argentina were present and guests truly enjoyed delicacies prepared by Rural Society.

The funds raised at the VIII Annual Charity Wine Tasting were used to build a school in the Yabotí Miri community, an indigenous Guaraní community in the municipality of San Pedro, Misiones Province. Today children in the Yabotí Miri community do not have access to the education system. At this school, children in the Yabotí Miri community will lean how to read, write, speak Spanish and do basic math. They will also have access to cooking and art lessons, learn about personal hygiene and health promoting behaviors. The school will broaden the children’s opportunities and help them avoid a future of marginalization and poverty. Biblioteca Palabras del Alma, a local non-profit aimed at providing culture, education and community development to those ignored by the State, will be in charge of the project.
